With COVID still as prevalent as ever, restaurants and bars have found themselves having to get creative during the winter months, in order to keep their customers safe. One of the biggest trends across the colder states in the country has quickly become outdoor dining igloos! And, lucky for us, Omaha is home to two locations sporting this winter oasis!
- Enjoy a winter night out, in the heart of the Capitol District, on the largest patio in Omaha!
- The eight heated igloos seat up to 6 people and can be rented for $100 each for up to 2 ½ hours. The igloos are available for rent 7 days a week.
- Each igloo is furnished with twinkle lights, a fireplace, blankets, faux fur, and comfortable seating. Guests in the igloos can also check out complimentary flatware, extra blankets, board games, televisions (equipped with DVD players), movies, and pillows.
- While enjoying your rental, you can order carryout from any of the Capitol District restaurants! It is recommended that you make sure your restaurant of choice is open during your reserved timeslot and that you order ahead of time.
- Here are the participating restaurants. While you can order anything off of the menu, many are also offering special deals for those renting the igloos! Make sure you have proof of your reservation to redeem the specials!
- Annie’s Irish Pub – $4.00 ant beer, well or mixed drink (excluding top shelf).
- Burdock & Bitters – They are offering free delivery to all igloos! Check on their website for an extensive menu to order from. If you’re interested in ordering from Burdock & Bitters it’s important to keep in mind that they are closed on Sundays.
- Burgerim – Burgerim is offering $25.00 family packs, $35.00 party packs, $4.00 “boozy shakes” and $2.00 domestic beers to guests who have reservations to the igloos. Call ahead for delivery information!
- Epoca – For $60.00, guests of the igloos can order a dozen tacos, rice, beans, and a house margarita! Keep in mind that Epoca is closed all day on Sundays and every night at 8:00 pm.
- Howard & Fine – Get 20% off your entire carryout order! They are also including a buy one get one half off deal with this offer.
- gilbert’s – j. gilberts are offering a specially handcrafted menu just for igloo guests! They have 3-course meals for guests of two, perfect for a date night getaway, and large appetizers and shared plates for a party of 6! They are also offering regular menu items as well.
- Lighthouse Pizza – Lighthouse is offering 10% off the food of the night as well as two craft drinks from their beerwall for $10.00 or two domestic beers for $8.00. Keep in mind that they aren’t open until 5:00pm and they are closed on Mondays.
- Moe & Curly’s – Mo & Curly’s are offering a 20% discount on the entire bill for those enjoying the igloos.
- nosh – Guests can order off the regular nosh menu or take advantage of specials only provided to those in the igloos. Those specials are: a Nosh Board for 2 for $24.00, for 4 for $49.00, or for 6 for $73.00. They are also offering cheese boards for 2 for $17, for 4 for $30.00, or for 6 for $47.00.
To ensure safety with COVID in mind, all staff will be required to wear masks when approaching and interacting with guests of the igloos and food runners will not be permitted inside. Also, the igloos will be thoroughly cleaned between each reservation.
- The original Omaha igloos! These heated igloos seat 2 – 8 people and can be rented for 1 ½ hour for $150.
- $100 of the rental fee will be applied to your final bill.
- Included in the rental are board games, blankets, and a portable speaker. They are also able to accommodate guests who prefer contactless service.
- Enjoy an intimate evening at one of the most popular bars in the up-and-coming Bohemia district, inside their lit-up igloos, while enjoying a unique and outstanding cocktail list!
